Shaw College celebrated its silver anniversary with a dinner attended by some 400 members of the College and their guests. At the dinner, guests were entertained by the great and the good, including stand-up comics from the Vice-Chancellor.

To commemorate the centenary of the 1911 revolution which brought an end to the Qing Dynasty, part of the Shaw College student hostel was named the Yat-sen Hall through a generous donation from Dr. Ho Hau-wong and Dr. Lam Kin-chung in January.
As if it was an early sign of the shape of things to come, Dr. the Honourable Leung Chun-ying spoke on the responsibilities of political leaders at a Shaw College assembly in November 2010.
Dr. Lily Sun, granddaughter of Dr. Sun Yat-sen whose statute was unveiled on campus in November 2010, was seen here with the Vice-Chancellor.

Shaw College Understanding Japanese Corporate Culture Programme
Shaw College celebrated its 24th Founder's Day in January 2010, with an assembly at its Letcure Theatre and speeches and prize presentation. Prof. Arthur Li (5th left), former Vice-Chancellor, was the guest of honour.
In October 2009,  21 students of Shaw College went to Cambodia to administer much needed help to impoverished communities there. At about the same time, the Head of College led another team of 20 students to Beichuan County and offered support and assistance in restoring the confidence and optimism of the residents.
You don't often hear senior members of the Government talking on issues of ethics and human behaviour. One such occasion occurred when Dr. the Honourable Henry Tang, Chief Secretary, was on campus and addressed the students of Shaw College in September 2009, on the subject of <b>The Art of Magnanimity</b>.
