The Institute of Space and Earth Information Science has received a donation of RMB 1 million from the China Soong Ching Ling Foundation for establishing a book gallery, organizing conferences and setting up scholarships.

Prof. Lin Hui was appointed to the Scientific Committee of the International Centre on Space Technologies for Natural and Cultural Heritage under UNESCO in July 2011.

Prof. Lin Hui (3rd right) was in Beijing to receive an Outstanding Contribution Prize from the Asian Association on Remote Sensing in recognition of his work in the development of remote sensing theories and application in various scientific areas.
