The Village Rebuild Demonstration Project in Maan Qiao Village of Sichuan was awarded the Jury Commendation for Innovation in 2011, UNESCO Asia-Pacific Heritage Awards for Culture Heritage Conservation.

Prof. Edward Ng Yan-yung (right) started the Wu Zhiqiao project to help building safe passages in rural areas in China. Today the project has benefited thousands of commuting students in far-off places. Prof. Ng received the Hong Kong Humanity Award in May 2010.
