Prof. Fanny M.C. Cheung, Professor of Psychology, has been appointed as Pro-Vice-Chancellor for two years from 1 February 2013.

S.H. Ho College officially opened on 28 October 2011. The plaque-unveiling ceremony for the four main buildings of the College was also held.
Prof. Christopher Gane has been appointed as the dean of the Faculty of Law for a period of five years from the end of September 2011.

Prof. Dennis Ng, University Dean of Students, was appointed as an Associate Pro-Vice-Chancellor in Aug 2011.
Prof. Alvin Leung was appointed Dean of Education in March 2011.
Past colleagues and students mourned Prof. Baysung Hsu, Emeritus Professor of Physics and former Pro-Vice-Chancellor, who passed away in April 2011. Professor Hsu was greatly respected for his contribution to the development of the CUHK during its early years.
<b>Uneasy lies the head that wears a crown</b>, but Vice-Chancellor Prof. Joseph Sung, seen here receiving his seal of office from Dr. Vincent Cheng, the Council Chairman, has taken its weightiness in his stride.
A walkathon led by Prof. and Mrs. Charles Kao, the Council Chairman, the Vice-Chancellor and ex-VCs Prof. Ma Lin and Prof. Ambrose King, took place on campus in March 2010, drawing 3,000 walkers from staff, students, alumni and friends. The event raised HK$3,000,000 for the Charles Kao scholarship endowment fund.
The Vice-Chancellor presented awards for Exemplary Service to eight members of staff in January 2010. The presentation ceremony was attended by some 160 guests including the families and friends of the recipients, their colleagues, and also senior academics and administrators of the University.
Prof. Benjamin Wah, the first Provost of the University, is poised to open the door to many innovations. Prof. Wah, Wei Lun Professor of Computer Science and Engineering, is the principal academic officer of the University and will be at the vanguard of research and curricular development at CUHK.
Prof. Wong Ching-ping, the new Dean of Engineering, took up his duties in early 2010. Prof. Wong is an expert in electronic and material engineering. A native of Hong Kong, he looks forward to playing a significant part in the development of his home city, the PRD, and China at large.
Dr. Edgar Cheng (centre), Chairman of the University Council from 2003 to 2009. Having steered the Chinese University for six years during a period of rapid expansion, Dr. Cheng will be remembered for his wisdom, fortitude, and foresight.
The annual football competition between staff members of HKU and CUHK, a tradition first instituted in 2003, took place in January 2009 at the Sir Philip Haddon-Cave Sports Field at the University. The Vice-Chancellor, Provost and all the Pro-Vice-Chancellors are seen here at the kick-off. The match ended with a 1-1 draw.
